The upcoming Lensfun version will have a streamlined database
loading.  It will look only in the directory it was configured for
at compilation time.  In your case, /usr/local/share/lensfun.  And
of course in the user directory.

It is currently stored in the git branch database-timestamps, and
will be merged into master probably next week.  We are happy about
beta testers.
