Patrick,

That is true to some degree but quite inconvenient if you have many styles
and you must always remember where in the history list you started.  But
perhaps a middle ground would be to transform the history list into a
taxonomy.  Each preset or style could be listed as a major element with the
module steps indented below.  one might be able to collapse or expand to
shorten or lengthen the list and quickly see the impact of various styles
without having to remember which one started where.
