3.2.6.2 "Usage"

The solid thick line is the inner boundary of your mask, the light gray
line represents the outer boundary. The opacity decays between the inner
and the outer bounds. All inside the inner boundary has maximum opacity
- Which is not always 100% because you can further reduce the opacity of
a mask within a group.
