What about LUA? With lua you can apply existing styles to images. 
A lua script could maybe read the specific string? from the exif field in 
question, select and apply the right style to the image.

In this german post you will find a sample script, which duplicates images for 
a list of styles (starting with a specifict string) and apply one style per 
image:
