I have indeed tried the disable opencl, but in fact I don’t even have the drivers for that, and I have tried the various gnome sessions and get the same results every time. I was able to run it from a remote desktop session but then I couldn’t do anything with the PC or even a new remote session. Seems like the display manager was completely messed and I had to reboot. I might have a go at kde. Any other suggestions would be gratefully received.

Maybe OpenCL is crashing X? > Many thanks Or maybe the problem is it is not X at all? I think Fedora 25 uses Gnome 3.22 and the session default has changed from X11 to Wayland. Wayland is mostly usable but there do seem to be a few things that can crash it and it is much like crashing the X11 server - the syste, reverts to the login screen. Darktable works on Wayland for me, but I am not using OpenCL. And I should have said that the login manager, GDM maybe, should have the option to choose the session type so you can also try it in an X session. On GDM, after you have chosen your name, there is a typical "settings" gear appears to choose. ____________________________________________________________________________ darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to [email protected] = ____________________________________________________________________________ darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to [email protected]
