Z and CTRL-Z gets you in the view (almost) fully zoom/screen. And now for the magic. In the Z view, press the shift key, release the shift key and now you can use your left arrow for the previous image or right arrow to the next image while still in the 'Z mode'. When you want to go back to the lighttable/grid view, press the z key again.
