Wait, what? Does this mean that I can't moves files from one computer
to another?
I regularly switch between different computers, and those presumably
have different library.db files, right?
Does something bad happen if I edit the same file from 2 different
computers? Will one overwrite changes made by the other even if I
don't have the file open in different computers at the same time?
My scenario for years now: I use a notebook for travelling and a more
powerful desktop computer with a good screen at home.
For this I use FreeFileSync and I sync the following folders of the two
computers:
/home/user/picture-archive
/home/user/.config/darktable
/home/user/.cache/darktable
Works perfectly for me. Sync the computers, grab the notebook, leave home.
Come back - sync the computers - work on the desktop.
Off course this is not for working with both computers in parallel.
If there is another computer - e. g. for use with a film scanner, I work
on the scans and when a batch is ready I remove the pictures from
darktable, shift them to the main computer's collection and reimport
them there.
