right, you would normally use blending/difference mode for this. seems
this isn't enabled for the base curve, probably for legacy reasons. i
enabled this in git master now.

not sure this helps you much though, exposure fusion will pretty much
change every pixel. i'd probably use the snapshot overlay to a/b the
effect, or switch the module on/off to flip.
