Copying the folders is easy, but how do I tell darktable > that all the images now live in a new location (and to no longer reference > the external drive)?
You can do this: - start DT without the external drive connected - go to the "folder" filter in ligthtable's collect module, the missing folders will appear crossed out - right click in a missing folder and you'll have an option for "search filmroll" - navigate to the new folder location and select it (you'll need to leave the folder filter afterwards and come back to actually see the name change) I only tested it with a single folder with 2 files, so test it before in a small subset of your library. I also don't know if it works with the full folder hierarchy. It may be that you can just point the new root folder and everything falls into place, or that you need to do it folder by folder... If you remove an re-import the images take into account that a (very very) small portion of the data is not saved into the XMP files and will be lost in the process, in particular the time corrections from the geotagging module (I think this is the only important missing data).
