Hmm, yes!
Not sure about the logic there, typing $( to initiate the drop-down
seems counter-intuitive to me.
But then I always was contrary.;-)

For me on dt 2.2.4 Mint18.
The list pops up but disappears as soon as I move the mouse so its
not possible to select an offering from the list.
