As I wrote in the mail you replied to, darktable does NOT look in ~/.config/
darktable/ for noise profiles. Neither is ~/darktable/data a place that looks 
anything like where darktable would look at. It is ONLY looking in
<install prefix>/share/darktable/noiseprofiles.json and nowhere else.
