channel might work but as the histogram only covers a very narrow part at
the center there is not enough fine grained control for my purpose. So I
assume I need to set some kind of mask and use the L channel.
I do not question the decision of using LAB color space for processing here
(I get the pros I think) I only want to know what I have to set the
parametric mask to to only modify e.g. red colors as I would with a RGB
curve tool.
