Sorry my question was not clear, I am talking about the "export" dialog,
not the "print" dialog... The export dialog does not have a drop-down
for units. Entering "17 x 22" or the reverse still causes the "Invalid
paper size" error.

Try to just enter the numbers, without the unit, and set the "inch" in the
dropdown next to it.
