I have tried opening the file in DT 2.4.4 (Debian)

[rawspeed] (DSC_5978.NEF) void
rawspeed::HuffmanTable::setCodeValues(const rawspeed::Buffer&), line
176: Corrupt Huffman. Code value 92 is bigger than 16

[temperature] failed to read camera white balance information from
`DSC_5978.NEF'!

From OS:
$ file /tmp/DSC_5978.NEF
/tmp/DSC_5978.NEF: TIFF image data, little-endian, direntries=28,
height=120, bps=352, compression=none, PhotometricIntepretation=RGB,
manufacturer=NIKON CORPORATION, model=NIKON D750,
orientation=upper-left, width=160

One of my raw files:
$ file Pictures/2018-06-20/DSC_1685.NEF
Pictures/2018-06-20/DSC_1685.NEF: TIFF image data, big-endian,
direntries=28, height=0, bps=0, compression=none,
PhotometricIntepretation=RGB, manufacturer=NIKON CORPORATION,
model=NIKON D600, orientation=upper-left, width=0

See the difference: DSC_5978.NEF: little-endian vs DSC_1685.NEF:
big-endian

Seems for some reason DT fails if raw file is having little-endianess.
