I think it's actually the export-with-style-appended functionality that's 
broken. Applying the style during editing seems to give the results I would 
expect from the settings in question. With a quick test on rc2 version that I 
have running, the JPEG with appended style is overexposed. Also, when applying 
the same JPEG as a sidecar file to an instance of the RAW with no history, it 
produces a history stack and appearance identical to loading the XMP file. I 
would have expected it to produce the full appended history stack (and 
appearance of the JPEG). I guess that would be another bug, if I understand the 
intended use of those features correctly... I only use export appending for a 
simple style containing only a single profiled denoise instance, and had never 
noticed that it wasn't included in the JPEG's embedded history stack. 
Interesting.
