To go back to the previous behaviour, you need to add a filter on
the collection to only consider "group leaders" in the grouping -
then whatever you do only applies to the "group leader" of the
group, which in your case (and mine ;) ) would be the RAW file.

Thanks to all for DT in the first instance.
Historically when shooting raw + jpeg, displaying only raw on
light table, selecting raw image and clicking export only the
raw would be exported. I now find that when only raw is
displayed an I select the visible image for export that the
accompanying camera jpeg gets exported as well ( unaltered
). I presume that I have changed a setting but cannot for
the life of me figure out which.
Any suggestions much appreciated
