I'm running multiple AMD GPUs with a 2950X on Fedora 29 with the amdgpu/mesa drivers on just the OpenCL portions of AMD's binary drivers installed. I started off with a hand-me-down Radeon Pro WX7100 that I ran until I found a Vega 56 on sale during the holidays. I left the WX7100 in my box for a couple of reasons, one of one being to use with OpenCL. The Radeon Pro is basically the workstation version of an RX 480 or 580 I think so it's not too far off from the RX 470. I've not had any issues out of it and I'm just using the default "multiple GPU" setting in Darktable. I didn't think to run benchmarks before and after but I"ve not had any issues out of the setup. I need to go in and make sure the Vega is getting set as the default card at some point. But it's plenty fast and definitely faster than OpenCL disabled, no display problems or bugs so far ... I guess I could just disable one card in the darktablerc file with opencl_device_priority instead of yanking one of the cards out? If it's that quick and easy can try to do some comparisons this week.
