Hello, I have a question that seems to have been covered already a few times on this list. But actually, still after much reading and experimenting, I cannot bring this to work properly.
The situation: I would like to automatically apply lens correction to my pictures taken with a certain zoom lens (Sony, FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS). The lens is being automatically recognized by darktable and set when activating the module. The camera is *not* automatically detected, as it's a quite new model (Sony, Alpha 7 III) and not yet in the database. It doesn't matter to me, I can select its predecessor (Sony, Alpha 7 II), which works equally fine. One tool to use for that are module-presets. If I create a preset where I just have set the camera model (I didn't touch any other setting) and apply it to other pictures, the focal length is also saved in the preset and (often incorrectly) copied over to the new pictures. So this is not a solution, as I have to manually select the correct focal length for any picture! In my tests, it didn't matter whether I auto-applied this preset upon importing or if I applied it manually. The other tool to achieve the goal are styles. Here I try again - turn on lens correction. I don't touch any setting, except I set the camera. I save the style. As soon as I apply the style to other pictures, the (wrong) focal length is also set. The only workaround-solution which comes up to my mind is create many module-presets, each only matching one certain focal-length. And each has the respective focal-length set correctly. This cannot be, can it? :-) Any advice very much appreciated, Florian ____________________________________________________________________________ darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to [email protected]
