Okay, thanks. I will look at comments on Mint forums, because even 2.6
is not available yet in the software manager or synaptic.

No. You need to wait for the packager to provide 2.6.1 or use another
sources of distribution. Others will give you more information, I'm
always building from sources and I don't know each distribution arcanes
