Mine already set to 'show both' .... played around with the theme
settings and the 'g' now shows when the group iis closed.
The 'g' symbol is much too small and should show on the open set to be
useful.
Looks like a theme problem?

just went thru that, disappeared w/o notice on several local machines, but
not all. is controllable by a setting:
GUI options
darkroom
show search module text entry
mine is set to "show both"
