thanks für this advice.
Since I use the script-manager (which replaces luarc) I remembered I
added scripts in recent times - I ditched them.

there is an incompatability there.
My first tests show that dt is working better now. Will see if this is

Your crash report shows a critical fault in Lua. Maybe an incompatible
update of the Lua libraries on your system? Or maybe some change to
your luarc file (in darktables config directory)?
