Thank you! That definitely fixed. I don't care about anything that would
be in the old library.db, so I believe I'm good.

I'm coming back to Darktable after an hiatus of a few years. Same computer,
but the older version app was removed long ago.
Message Dialog: "Database schema has to be upgraded" Hitting the upgrade
button has no error message but Darktable App completely closes. Same dialog
box comes up again when launching Darktable. With same results, can repeat
infinite times.
I've changed permissions to wide open on the ./config/darktable folder. I've
also run the quarantine command on https://www.darktable.org/install/#macos
, along with doing so via the GUI.

Anyone have any suggestions?
if it has been that long since you utilized dt, you might move the
library.db and data.db out of ~/.config
then retry dt with empty library, should countinue.
if successful, some suggestions can follow to perhaps correct your old
library.db
