Darktable 3.2 will probably have a Legacy mode, which would keep the module processing order in the same sequence as 2.6 for images already processed in 2.6. You may compile 3.1 from source, which already has the Legacy ordering option. I don't know if it will made available in 3.0.x patch releases. In my case, upgrading from 2.6 to from 3.1 with the new iop_order patch, keeps the looks and therefore preserves the work already done on thousands of images in 2.6, now “legacy” mode... For me, 3.1 with the new iop_order is actually the first usable darktable 3.
