I used to have a similar problem -- if I was viewing a large collection, the thumbnail generation would peter out after a few dozen images -- but this went away when the thumbnail caching apparatus was refactored for Darktable 2.0.
The partition the images are on should not be a problem, but you might try deleting/moving aside your cache directory (on Linux, '~/.darktable/cache'). -- August Schwerdfeger [email protected] On Tue, Mar 24, 2020 at 1:02 PM J.
