Why does she want to switch to the latest release? Does she need the filmic developments, or certain bug fixes? If not, and she has a working setup, it might be safer to stay with 3.0.0, at least until the end of the project. If she still wants to switch, at the very least make sure of a good (double) backup of the database, and make sure there's still a 3.0.0 version available for her system.
