In Bruce's excellent video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7adCF2FvU8
at 6 mins 10 => ) the long axis dimension is shown.
If a raw image is cropped during "developing" then at present the final
image size cannot be see from any lightable view apart from
theoretically in export for print module. In the video max image
dimension is autopopulated into the relevant field. In my installation
that data entry box remains at zero. At the same time the "Export
width" and "Export height" fields under "Image information" ( on the
left ) remain empty. ( See attached ). What I am trying to find is an
indication of the max available dimensions without having to open the
image in darkroom mode and fiddle with the crop module.
Any suggestions much appreciated
Cheers

Read section 2.3.14.1 in TFM online, if you haven't already. You can
tell darktable what size you need (in. or cm.), but if you tell it
only one dimension needed (height or width), darktable will not
automagically "fill in the blank" such that you can see it. It will
scale appropriately, though.

Hi
Using DT 3.4.0 on ubuntu 20.04 ( from deb ). Please forvgive me if
numpty question.
Take a fuji raw file that has been "processed" but not exported.
My understanding of the intention of this is that I can set 300 dpi
and the export dialogue would show me the max sixe of print possible
at that resolution. If I choose to enter eg 9 inches ( long axis )
the module would show the short axis dimension and then output a jpeg
at that size. The jpeg does get exported at 2700 which is correct
but there is no given indication of the max print size or of the
short axis.
Any suggestions much appreciated - or am I just a numpty and am
missing the obvious.
Many Thanks
