Replying back to the list (instead of personal email)
I did the tagging only once in the past but I was able to tag about
9000+ images.
My notes are not that clear...
Looks like
1. I changed the time of all images to UTC (but this is the actual time
- not the zone)
2. When changing the offset - I select several images and then try to
modify the first (change the time by directly typing the desired time
stamp) - this applies offset on all images - it does not change all
images to be the exact same time.
3. What is unclear is - when I am importing the track and the images are
already in UTC - is the zone your local zone or the UTC zone - I have
the feeling that I changed the "time" to UTC but and I changed the zone
to PST (my zone) - you will have to experiment with this.
4. Once the images have the coordinates from the track I changed back
the time to the original one and they preserved the coordinates properly.
Hope it works for you. It would be nice to have a newer video but
honestly I never had time to do that.
Have you tried pixls.us?

and the complete archive

I'm fiddling and trying. Yes, I can actually type into the text box.
The problem seems to be the image selection. With one image I managed
to enter a changed value in the top line and calculate the offset to
the original date/time displayed in the second line.Next try didn't
work - I just don't know what to do to keep an image selected after
clicking it so I can apply anything to it.
But I realize that I have this problem only in the map desktop, not in
the lighttable desktop. One thing that doesn't work in either desktop
is the setting of the time zone. I can select one, but upon hitting
enter it's UTC again.
The guy in the video (which is quite well done!) has a version of dt
tha has a somewhat different UI. E. g. he can select a time zone when
selecting the track file.

Can you type at all where the highlighted number 14 is?
If grayed out - no change was done so nothing to apply
when I change by 15 min - apply offset becomes available.
I am on PopOS 20.04 and using DT 3.8.1 from the OBS repository.
I used this video https://youtu.be/Ab6qohOQURs as a guidance. Did
have
to go back and forth few times but eventually it worked well (but
it was
a few months ago).
