[I just had a mailer crash while in the middle of composing a message to the list; if it got sent, I apologize for the noise.]

I just received my R3 (almost 4 months after ordering). Darktable can't seem to open the .CR3 images from it, telling me that "darktable failed to read camera white balance information" and saying that I should make sure the camera is in the list of supported cameras at https://darktable.org/resources/camera-support. The R3 is not in that list, but none of the EOS R cameras seems to be and I know the announcement for darktable 3.8 said that it supported the R, RP, R5, and R6.)

I'm on Fedora 36. I first tried 3.8.1 from the Fedora repositories and couldn't import the image at all. (I have exiv2 .27.5, so I thought that version of darktable could open CR3 files.) So I got 4.0.0.49.7 from OBS and also tried the flatpak for 4.0 for Fedora. Both of those give me the message about white balance information.

I found some information about raw files for the R3 being uploaded, but I'm not sure whether more are needed or whether there's something else I could do to edit the R3 images now or at least contribute to getting support for the R3 into darktable as soon as possible. I'd appreciate pointers to more information and suggestions for how to proceed.

Thanks.
