You have the graphics drivers installed to use openGL, i.e. graphics display. On OpenSuse, I need an extra package to use openCL: "nvidia-compute...". This package sets up the /etc/OpenCL directory (with a bunch of other stuff). No idea how that's arranged on Debian, but look for packages related to nvidia, opencl and CUDA (another system to use the GPU for calculations).
