Yes, i think i have seen that.
There is still some race condition in darkroom.
For me reopening picture in darkroom solved it.

Not darktable problem.
Try disabling opencl, using cpufreq tools to downclock cpu; cleaning dust
from cooling system/changing thermal grease; or compile with openmp off :)
