This feedback is based on the version 1.1 rc2
A lot of things had been improved regarding tags in this version.
- adding tags to photos even in batch is mutch faster but I feel it is
still slow. For instance, filtering all my db for the tag "china" gives me
2000 photos and then detaching this same tag "china" takes rouglhy one
minute (on i2600k 16G of RAM)
- sorting, apllying filters is much faster and no more crash even with a
lot of photos
Still a few problems :
- tag management, categories are only updated if close Darktable and start
again - it would be great to have it live
- ghost tags, I have removed the tag "china" from all my pictures but this
tag is still shown in the uncategorised list, how to clean this list =>
browsing the right panel and deleting from there but tags are shown by
frequency of use, it's time consuming...cannot sort, search for some
specific tags
- use of mouse roll in tag window, when down on the visible list, cannot
scroll down (it scrolls the whole left panel), only using arrows works
And what I am missing now is a tag manager where I could rename tags,
categories, etc... Is it planned ?
