Dear All

I guess a Happy New Year to everyone is in place! If 2013 brings as much
improvement to darktable as did 2012, the its going to be the best
package!!!

No a question/issue: when listing a collection of DNG (Leica) sorterd by
date/time, I am getting unexpected orders, not by date as one would
think.

A closer look using exiftool reveals these dates for a Leica jpg:
 exiftool 01-L1001189.jpg|grep -i date
File Modification Date/Time : 2012:11:25 18:36:41+01:00
Create Date : 2012:04:02 10:09:48
Date/Time Original : 2012:04:02 10:09:48
Profile Date Time : 2012:11:25 17:36:40

when using this on a Panasonic JPG I get:
exiftool 11-P1060859.jpg|grep -i date
File Modification Date/Time : 2012:11:25 18:36:52+01:00
Modify Date : 2012:10:29 12:04:34
Date/Time Original : 2012:10:29 12:04:34
Create Date : 2012:10:29 12:04:34
Profile Date Time : 2012:11:25 17:36:51

In the Leica case I get an empty Date/Time entry in the image info,
while the Panasonic shows a value. Not surprisingly the sorting order is
unexpected (maybe random?). Thus it seems, that the sorting is done on
the basis of the 'Modify Date' entry.

Does that make sense?
Is there a way out?

Greetings

Eildert
