Latest Darktable 1:1.1.3 down loaded to night. I tried lens correction on a series of photos taken with a Tamron 17-50 f2.8 lens. With the correction on there is a black frame around the picture, With the correction off there is no frame. The I can not remember exactly I think this has started within the last 2 weeks. Focal length may play a roll as it is a bit less pronounced at 50mm than with 25mm
