Hi guys,
I think darktable just ate a bunch of my photos when I tried to import and
ran out of space on /home (where the library resides). It created a number
of 0 byte files in the import destination folder, both ARW, JPG and xmp.
This would be merely annoying but the big problem is that it deleted the
files from the source SD card despite not importing successfully!
(Obviously I had the corresponding check box active.)
So those pics are gone now, I guess. No big harm done in this instance as
it was just some random architecture shots from a short walk, I'm "glad" I
caught it with less-than-important pics. I can still try an
undelete/recovery tool to recover the SD card of course.
This happened on darktable 1.3+292~g1f7297d/Ubuntu 12.04. Haven't filed a
bug yet. If its any consolation (and assuming this is an actual
reproducible issue), darktable is far from the only Linux application that
doesn't deal gracefully with running out of space; I really need to get a
bigger SSD!
Cheers
Moritz
