Hi,

This due to a missing feature on the gphoto2 package :

gphoto2, used to import, can't get this information from raw file so
exif date it's not possible on the import
But instead, you can overload the $(day) whith the good day date on the
option of the import ...

If you can hack on it, you will have 2 possibility :
1) add the possibilty to get exif information from raw file on gphoto2 (
see
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=1367825655.1542.3.camel%40roumano&forum_name=gphoto-user?
)

I have already ask them but nothing come ....

2) change the import module of darktable ( see
http://www.darktable.org/redmine/issues/8415#note-8? ) to do something like
that :
1. copy to a temporary location
2. check if the transfer was complete
3. get all the info you need for final location/renaming/tagging/whatever
4. move file there/tag/whatever

Regards

Subject: [Darktable-users] EXIF date in import module
Hi guys.

I've been using Rapid Photo Downloader as my goto import tool, well since
before i even started using DT so i haven't paid much attention to DT's
import module. Today i gave it a go (in version 1.3+1069).

I want to store my images in a structure like
$(EXIF_YEAR)/$(EXIF_MONTH)/$(JOBCODE) - $(EXIF_DAY). It works fine, except
the date parts are not read from the exif data but rather get the current
date's values.

Am i the only one this happens to? Should i submit a report?

Thanks in advance.
