you can adjust the font size in:
  ~/.config/darktable/darktable.gtkrc
  
If you do not have darktable.gtkrc in that directory, copy it from:
  /usr/share/darktable/darktable.gtkrc

the string to edit is:  font_name = "Sans 10"
change the 10 to <your_choice>.
