Hi Goncalo,

In practical terms for this the logarithmic spreads out the shadow and midtone 
values so that you can see what is happening there rather than giving a 
disproportionate prominence to highlights.  That seems good - except for the 
fact that most often we are using this view to look at where the highlights are 
:)

That all said  they are just different ways of presenting the same information 
so use whichever seems the most useful to yourself. I usually stick to linear 
myself but occasionally flip between them if I'm interested in a particular 
image's shadows.

Hi guys.

I would like to better understand how to read the logarithmic view of the 
histogram. What's the difference between it and the normal linear view and how 
can i interpret it's meaning? What are the advantages/disadvantages of each 
view?

Can you point me to some source of information where i can find out more about 
this?
