Paul
I have just gone through the motion of replacing a broken 6 year old box. My use case is rather similar to yours. This is the setup: Streacom F7C evo case i5-4760 quad core 60GB - 2.5 SSD 3TB - 3.5 hard disk pico-PMU - power 16BG DDR3 RAM DVD writer kubuntu thats it. This box should be able to run anything from single user surfing to multi user computing center activity ;) Maybe, the built in graphics card will not be able to to high end gaming (which I dont do anyway). cheers and have fun building your system.
