All the commands you used look fine, except for:

If you cloned from your personal fork on github then also this is fine,
since it will update your remote repository. After done so, go to the
website and click "create pull request for this" and we can easily merge
your work.

If you have cloned directly from our main repository this probably won't
work since I guess you don't have commit rights there. in that case you
could fork the repository on github and then add this as your remote:

$ git remote add victor [email protected]:[...]
$ git push victor master

...and then do the pull request.
