Hi, I had the same issue once a short time ago. Probably a bug. I managed to come back to normal behavior by deleting darktablerc. The file gets restored with default settings the next time darktable is started. Negative aspect of this solution is that you lose some of your settings like collections and your favorite module selection.
Could you please send your current darktablerc file (found in .config/darktable) so we have a chance to reproduce and spot the problem.
