Hallöchen!

Over the last months, there has been much activity in the Lensfun
project (http://lensfun.berlios.de/), which is used by Darktable's
lens correction module. Much activity also means big surface for
bugs. Therefore, I encourage readers of this list to install the
SVN version from http://developer.berlios.de/svn/?group_id=9034 and
to test it.

For whetting your appetite, the following things have been improved:

* Many new profiles for lenses and cameras, see
  http://wilson.bronger.org/lensfun_coverage.html

* Lens names have been synchronised with exiv2 for better
  autodetection

* With current git darktable, lenses are sorted by focal length

* A new script lensfun-update-data for bringing your local lenses
database in sync with the SVN version

* A new script lensfun-add-adapter for making adapted lenses
selectable for your camera, e.g. if you own a Canon-EF-on-Sony-E
  adapter.

* Increased accuracy for crop factors of APS-C cameras. In
practice, this means that the conversion fisheye --> rectilinear
  can be made accurately.

* Many many bugfixes for corner cases (e.g. calibration sensor had
  size different from image sensor)

The documentation on the website still refers to the latest release,
but you can easily build the updated documentation locally.

Tschö,
Torsten.
