yes: select the images and use the shortcuts 1-5 or r
I explain my rationale. I normally shot RAW+JPEG; then I import all
the
files to a disk directory. Sometime there are files that are jpeg
only
(panoramas, strange things, operator errors, etc.).
The next step is the first cull. The procedure I would like to use is
to
rapidly sweep through the images in lighttable (1 image per screen)
and
mark with "r" the ones I want to delete forever; at the end I review
all
of them showing "only rejected" and if I don't see anything strange I
select them all and send all those blurry or insipid bits to oblivion
with "delete".
Now, grouping let me very conveniently not seeing images duplicates;
but
using the above procedure will delete only the raw files
When deleting an image with duplicates, darktable keeps the original
input file on disk until the last of the duplicates gets deleted.

I don't shoot RAW+JPEG but I think that if you delete a group
everything *that has been imported in darktable* will be deleted.
Another possibility would be to have an option to import just raw
files
avoiding the jpeg that have a correspondent raw, but importing the
"lone" jpegs.
I don't think that it's possible nor a desired feature for most of
people, as darktable is a raw converter.
