It may be somewhat difficult to install, but not that "VERY" difficult :-)
I assume you did download the file without problem, then you need:
- click the downloads icon next to trash bin
- follow the line of downloaded files and select darktable, it will
mount the file, you should find the drive in finder under "DEVICES"
- click darktable device and you should see a link to Application folder
and darktable executable
- move the executable to Applications folder link in same device
- click Applications folder and darktable should be there, select it
and using Finder -> File -> Open (or command O), it will ask
if you really, really, really want to execute, do it there is a warning
about software coming from unknown source or something like that
