Hi, I've been enjoying darktable for digital negatives greatly and each new release rocks even better. Even on my laptop with mediocre OpenCL support.
I've been playing with the color balance module as a way to use it as the level tool in gimp for scanned negatives. This works quite well. However it would be great if I could set a blackpoint and white point with crosshair and configure the L,r,g,b values for lift and gain. As the white balance module enacts before the color balance module an additional whitebalance modifier slider would be very useful too. And if gamma then scales between the black and white point this would speed the workflow tremendously. In the longterm adding curves into this module might be even better. This is stuff I can do in 8-bit in gimp pretty easily, but then I loose all that nice 16-bit tiff information. Anyone who would like this too? Doing negatives and stuff? Is there a better way?
