How about just using the colour correction module to apply a warming (or other) 
tint?  You can run multiple instances of this, each with their own masks as 
needed, to balance the flash and naturally lit areas.

This is exactly as I do it --- I needed it for example in a portrait taken with 
flash (slow mode) in front of a very nice sunset. Yes, I know, a pro would have 
gelled the flash to a warm tone to match the sunset ;-).

A very nice thing that could be added to dt, apart from the multiple WB 
instances, would be to import/export the masks to a grayscale image. It would 
be really useful when working in tandem with gimp...
