They do the same thing, but AFAIK the in-camera corrections don't apply to the 
RAW file.  So if you shoot RAW, you'll
need to use darktable's lens correction module.  If you shoot JPG and apply 
lens correction in-camera, then you won't
need to use darktable's lens correction module.

FYI, the correction is provided by lensfun.

The in-camera corrections might be slightly different to what lensfun does, it 
depends on how much information is
available in the lensfun database.  But you always have the option of 
submitting some images to Bronger's lens profiling
service if it doesn't currently have what you need.
