Concerning your lost edits. You can give a try to the following approach. I assume you still have a JPEG, TIFF or JPEG2000 of these images which you had exported from darktable. In lighttable view you go into the "history stack" panel. There is the option to load a sidecar file. After clicking, a file selection dialog opens up. You switch the file type from "xmp" to "all files" and select the *exported* image. darktable now extracts the history stack from that image and stores it in a buffer. You can now paste the history stack onto the *original* image which you previously had selected in the lighttable by clicking on "paste all". This needs to be repeated for all the ten photos separately. No guarantee that it works but it's worth a try.
