If I get it right, I guess the sensor ratio is not exactly 3:2. Actually, I
have the same behaviour with my D700. For example, the JPEG from the camera
viewed in gimp is 3184x2120 px and not 3180x2120. When you crop, the 3:2
ratio is stricly applied.
