The problem is that the top/bottom toolbars are quite wide (translated 
versions can make it even wider) which results in a min width of the window 
that is too big for you.
To use dt you could either make the fonts smaller (bad option), make the side 
panels smaller (also not that great) or keep the top/bottom toolbars collapsed 
at all times (also not the best, but might work). Note that you can collapse 
them for lighttable and darkroom individually.

If anyone has an idea how to shrink those two toolbars please speak up. 
Squeezing a few pixel out by making the scrollbar smaller or shortening some 
strings might be possible, but a general redesign of the layout seems more 
worthwhile.
