About 27": I think it is sufficient if you work alone. With actual
resolution, a bigger monitor will show you too much the pixels.
I recommend you to check http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/ It has nice review of
monitors (I think the target are color geek, photographers and
videographers). If you check the real model of panel, you will see that the
good DELLs have the same panels as Eizo and NEC. Same panel doesn't mean
same "quality", because some adaptation for uniformity, etc. is done by
controlers, but anyway...it will give you good immages.
